A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you dive in.

Currently in free early access
Do I need to share database credentials?

No. Import a schema JSON or DBML file. Schema Studio does not connect to your source database or collect its records.

Where is my schema stored?

Edits are saved in this browser. Your schema, descriptions and layout are sent to the server when you save to the cloud or enable cloud autosave for a linked document. Browser copies remain after sign-out, but clearing site data removes them. Export a JSON backup for important work.

Which databases and formats are supported?

Free supports JSON and DBML import and export. Supported PostgreSQL/MySQL DDL import, the PostgreSQL metadata query and PNG export are also free. SQL, SVG and dictionary exports and paid subscriptions are coming soon. Documents support up to 100 tables and 2MiB of input.

Can I try it before signing up?

Yes. Explore and edit tables and relationships in the demo. Sign in to access your workspace and cloud storage.

What about team collaboration and pricing?

Free early access includes team invitations and read-only share links. You can own up to 3 workspaces with 5 seats each, including the owner and pending invitations. Real-time collaboration and paid subscriptions are not available yet. See Plans for document and sharing limits.
